There is fast and affordable light in this air. I stretch my hands towards it and almost loose my balance. It feels rough and kind of unfinished, but it makes sense, which is what I look for in light. There is fast and affordable light and I am keen to observe it with you. Water splashes out of the fountain of some monument like the soundtrack to our game drive. Soon enough, the sun will go down and we will go home with some of that fast and affordable light in our pockets.

There is fast and affordable light on the train I am sitting in. Subtle shadows from outsides bypassing trees that get interrupted by harder shadows of railroad signs and streetlamps. I look at myself through the mirror, the sky. I see: blue tones and white tones, soft to constant, depicted by this mornings sun. There is fast and affordable light in this blue hour. I am looking out of my window and the leaves are everywhere between cobalt and preussian. There is fast and affordable light at the zenith of the sun. Leaves rustle in a slight breeze, creating patterns in grass and water. 

Looking for depth of space and finding it. Looking for superpower and decoding it. Different types of somersault and refining it. Looking for newer roads and deciding quick. There is especially heavy air and my eyes get stuck. There’s trees shining in yellow and orange tones, needle trees and leaf trees. This fast and affordable light is gone but the warmth will burn through the night. Trees flashing glimpses in morning light sprinkle on edges of rubble and ashes.

Life asks, we answer. The music is playing in cafe near the train station. There is a specific slowness going on that is at home on the outskirts of large cities. I am sitting in the shadows drinking the warm, early summer light and everyone is strangely walking their beautiful ways. There is affordable and dull light in the overground station on a Friday afternoon.

The ribbed glass of the window frame shines down on us as if we are flowers in a greenhouse. Most people here are in motion but we continue to grow sitting on the metal bench under this affordable and dull light. It is an early summer morning and there is fresh and sharp light to be preserved. We bring home this fresh sharp light to make it last for years and store it in our collection of lights.
