‘’In Bed’’ is an ongoing gouache painting series that depicts self-portraits in the highest form of relaxation and rest.
Possibly an underrated and ordinary piece of furniture, the bed serves a deeper purpose for our tired bodies and overthinking minds and it is always there welcoming our presence with comfort and loosening.
The artist connects body and bed in a symbolic way, highlighting the importance of slowing down, sleeping well and staying mentally healthy for the well-being of our bodies and minds.
Moreover, the paintings aim to highlight the significance of balance in our daily routine, in this case; staying productive as well as taking time off.
