Pegah Kazemi

Pegah Kazemi (she/her/hers) is an Iranian painter. She is an alumna of Alanus Hochschule, Bonn, Germany, in Studio Practice. Currently she is graduated in Painting at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA.

Artist Statement
I make paintings that center on my daily life and daydreams. Fascinated by the human form as a dynamic object and volume on canvas, my quest is to tell fantastical stories of cultural expression, melancholy, and metaphor. Associated with the objectivity of the figure, alienation, humor, absurdism, and magical realism, I strive to record my personal experience and the ongoing challenges that the contemporary woman is faced with.
