Description: 'The process in this work has much to do with the rebirth and the start of Spring. I started this painting firts day of February. By the end of it the chromatic palette and the value had completely changed. As my work is purely procedual, I started with big blocks of greys. Composing a cold scenario. The more the warmth came into Germany, and the more sun the dense clouds let through shine in the upcoming weeks, would have a major influence in the resultant work. Shy colours emerged and played around with each other. Big blocks of carefully applied paint were demanded to impose order and oxygen into the composition. The name, therefore, is a playful representation of the german weather combined with the greek mythology. Híades being the five ninfas in charge of rain. My work being the bloom of the countryside appearing in front of my eyes as an answer to their work. A changing scenery just as the process of this work.'
Gerard Almirall
"In our increasingly industrialized world, a space where you can live with inner peace is difficult to find. The need to move further and further away from neuralgic centers and pavement ecosystems becomes the oniric work.
In the oniric work the landscape becomes space and the figures become essences. Thus causing the transformation of the romantic landscape into a reimagined topography. In this type of composition, the observer's imagination is able to complete the chaos that the disordered brushstrokes and glazes initially create. In this way, a dialogue is generated between the observer's imagination and the artist's intention."
The viewer is invited to feel and escape the noise. Generate shapes, figures and stories. An invitation to the therapeutic fable and to cloud rationality.
